In this second illustrated practical guide, ample space is given to all the poisonous or dangerous species present in such habitats and potentially confusable with similar edible ones, while for the latter the best use in cooking or food preservation is indicated, a subject amply covered in the general part of the book.

We are certain that the 546 taxa considered and the 365 photocolours proposed - together with the 367 taxa and 223 photocolours of the 'Alps' - are of great help in understanding and immediately classifying the species present in the habitats of northern Italy...
